Friday saw the highest figures ever achieved for the Goresbridge July Sale for National Hunt and point-to-point prospects, with new benchmarks set for all the key market metrics.

The latest segment of the Brittas House Stud dispersal helped contribute towards aggregate sales of €262,375 - a higher figure than the previous four years combined - with nine of the top ten lots offered as part of the dispersal.

Of the 74 lots on offer, 62 changed hands for an impressive clearance rate of 84 per cent, up two per cent on the previous high set in 2004. Those 62 lots were purchased at an average spend of €4,230 and a median price of €1,650.

From the dispersal of the late Peter Magnier's stock, 13 went under the hammer and brought total receipts of €174,300 at an average spend of €13,400.

The Brass Lady's yearling Milan gelding became the most expensive July Sale purchase when hammered down to Timmy Hillman for €44,000. The February-foaled youngster is a full-brother to four-year-old maiden winner The Brass Man and bumper winner Thegreatestreward.

Another Milan gelding from the same draft to prove popular was the yearling out of Young Lady, a Vinnie Roe half-sister to the millennium Long Distance Hurdle winner Teaatral, who was purchased by Trade Horse Ltd for €22,000.

Two sons of Walk In The Park from the Brittas House dispersal also fetched over €20,000.

Bride Park Farm purchased the two-year-old half-brother to Haldon Gold Cup third Oscar Hill for €32,000, while RGM Bloodstock stretched to €21,000 for a yearling gelding from the family of talented hurdler Chomba Womba.

Another interesting lot on the day was Moortown Stud's Dabbers Ridge gelding who is the last foal out of Unowhatimeanharry's dam Red Nose Lady, and he was signed for by bargain hunter Shane Gault at €3,500.
