Breeding rights in Territories, Time Test and Cotai Glory available at Goffs
The online auction takes place straight after the February Sale next week
Goffs will host an online sale of breeding rights for Time Test, Territories and Cotai Glory, which will be held immediately after the Goffs February Sale, with bidding opening as the last mare is sold on Thursday, February 10 and closing at midday on Friday, February 11.
The sale will be a timed online auction held on Goffs Online, a platform that has sold horses for up to £300,000 and done more than £10 million in sales since its launch two years ago.
Time Test made an fast impression with his first two-year-olds last term, with the Group 2-winning son of Dubawi finishing 2021 as the leading first-season sire by black-type winners.
The National Stud resident's leading performers include Group 3 winners Romantic Time and Rocchigiani, Listed winners Tardis and The King's Horses and Moyglare Stud Stakes third Sunset Shiraz. The son of Dubawi stands for a career best of £15,000.
Darley sire Territories was provided with a first top-level winner when Rougir struck in the Prix de l'Opera last October and subsequently sold to Oceanic Bloodstock for €3,000,000 at the Arqana Breeding Stock Sale.
His other performers include Group placed Masseto, Rhoscolyn, Teresa Mendoza and last year’s Balmoral Handicap winner Aldaary. The ten-year-old stands at £10,000 this term.
Cotai Glory concluded last season as the leading first-season sire for winners, with his 35 including the Prix Robert Papin winner Atomic Force, the Group-placed Pearl Glory and Eldrickjones, who was second in the Coventry Stakes. He will stand this year for a fee of €8,500.
Goffs Group chief executive Henry Beeby said: “Goffs Online was first introduced to the market in 2020 and since its inception it has proven a market leading platform. We have used it to aid our live auctions on both sides of the Irish sea, as well as hosting timed online sales which has seen it sell horses up to £300,000.
“We've secured the sale of breeding rights to three very promising young sires which have strong commercial appeal, and this online auction enhances the extensive offering at our three-day Goffs February Sale next week.
"This online sale will open at the conclusion of the final day of breeding stock and if breeders wish to discuss adding any additional breeding rights to the sale, we invite them to contact a member of the Goffs team."
He added: "This new departure for Goffs only widens our offering and the introduction of the Agents Commission, which was successfully introduced for the online London Sale last summer, should also broaden the sales appeal."
Entries will be available to view on the Goffs website later this week.
