Blond Me and Flotilla to feature among partial Al Shahania dispersal
Five foals and eight mares to be offered at Tattersalls December Sale
Al Shahania Stud’s French based Haras des Cruchettes will offer a partial dispersal of five foals and eight mares in foal at the forthcoming Tattersalls December Sale. They will all be consigned from Newsells Park Stud.
The globetrotting Blond Me, winner of the likes of the E. P. Taylor Stakes for Andrew Balding and carrying her third foal by Siyouni, heads the team along with Breeders' Cup and French Guineas scorer Flotilla, in foal to Sea The Moon and the Listed-winning Monsun mare Pearls Or Passion.
Out of Prix Vermeille winner Pearly Shells, the last-named is already the dam of Group 3 winner Pelligrina and Listed placed Podemos and is also in foal to Siyouni.
Young winning mares Crimson Rock, Find It Within, Listentome and Saracene, in foal to Highland Reel, Almanzor, Al Kazeem and Le Havre respectively, complete the list of mares along with Zamindar mare Time Being, also in foal to Al Kazeem. Time Being is a full sister to the Juddmonte's Group 1 winner Timepiece and a half-sister to Passage Of Time.
The foals are headed by a March born colt by Invincible Spirit out of the 2018 French Guineas winner Teppal, from the Group 1 family of Call The Wind, We Are and With You.
He is joined by colt first foals out of the Group 3 winners Pelligrina and Qabala, by Siyouni and Kingman respectively, a Sea The Stars colt out of Listed-placed mare Desert Haze and a Sea The Moon fily out of Makfi mare Catalyst.
Al Shahania Stud’s racing manager Bertrand Le Metayer said: "Having carefully assembled an elite broodmare band over the past decade His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Thani has decided to have a select partial dispersal.
"The five foals are outstanding colts and fillies out of top-class young mares and the team of eight broodmares, all in foal to good early covers, represent a rare opportunity for international breeders to access some of the best families in the stud book. The Tattersalls December Sale is the premier sale of its type in Europe and the perfect showcase for mares and foals of such quality."
