Battle Of Marengo takes up residence at Haras des Granges
Eight-year-old son of Galileo stood for four seasons at Ballyhane Stud
Battle Of Marengo has arrived at his new home of Haras des Granges in the southwest of France, where he will stand the 2019 breeding season at a €2,500 fee.
The eight-year-old son of Galileo was a runaway winner of a Gowran Park maiden in August of his two-year-old campaign and won his four subsequent starts including the Beresford Stakes at the Curragh at two and the Ballysax Stakes and Leopardstown Derby Trial at three.
Battle Of Marengo stood his first two seasons at Ballyhane Stud at a €6,000 fee and saw his price trimmed to €4,000 in years three and four.
A close fourth to fellow first-season sire Ruler Of The World in the 2013 Derby, Battle Of Marengo is bred on the same Galileo-Green Desert cross as the previous year's Oaks winner Was.
His first crop of runners has produced six winners, as well as the Italian stakes-placed Bridge Battlango.
