Baltic Song the eighth winner for Ammerland producer Born Wild
All the mare's runners to date have returned to the winner's enclosure
Hopes will be high Baltic Song can become the seventh black-type performer out of Gestut Ammerland's homebred producer Born Wild after opening his account in the 1m4f Ladbrokes Novice Stakes at Lingfield on Friday.
The three-year-old Sea The Stars colt ran green on debut at Chelmsford in December, but made amends when easing clear of his six rivals on Friday by the best part of two lengths.
Derby entrant Baltic Song is the eighth winner from as many runners - all of whom carry the 'Baltic' prefix - out of Born Wild, who six stakes performers to date are headed up by the 2014 Prix Vermeille heroine Baltic Baroness (by Shamardal) and the 2012 German Derby Trial winner Baltic Rock (Rock Of Gibraltar).
The winning daughter of Sadler's Wells has also produced the Group 3 Prix des Reservoirs runner-up Baltic Comtesse (Lope De Vega) and the Listed-placed trio Baltic Storm (Kandahar Run), Baltic Duchess (Lope De Vega) and Baltic Baron (Shamardal).
The Rock Of Gibraltar stallion Kandahar Run and Lope De Vega both raced in the Ammerland colours, with Kandahar Run having stood at Ammerland during his second career.
Baltic Best (King's Best) also picked up a minor prize in Germany before she was retired to stud.
Born Wild is herself a daughter of the Borgia, who precedes her half-brother Boreal on the Deutsches Derby roll of honour, with that pair out of German St Leger scorer Brittania.
The mare also has a yearling colt by Golden Horn and paid a visit to Dubawi last year.
