Australian sensation I Am Invincible living up to his name with a red-hot spell
The Yarraman Park stallion sits in second place in sires' championship
Snitzel looks well on course to secure a third consecutive Australian sires’ championship with yet another figure in excess of A$20 million.
However, spare a thought for the likely bridesmaid I Am Invincible, who has clawed his way to beyond A$11m (£6,058,870/€6,919,395) in earnings this season without the assistance of the A$13m Everest, unlike Snitzel, whose son Redzel struck in this season’s renewal for the second year running.
Praise can be heaped freely on stallions. But it is certainly warranted in the case of Yarraman Park Stud’s I Am Invincible, to date the best sire son worldwide by Invincible Spirit. He spent his early seasons at A$11,000 (£6,030/€6,900), out of which he sired the Group 1 winners Brazen Beau, Voodoo Lad, Viddora and I Am A Star.
