Adlerflug colt the pick of the prices at BBAG Spring auction
The BBAG Spring Sale in Baden Baden, Germany, on Friday was topped by the two-year-old Adlerflug colt Meeradler from Gestut Gorlsdorf.
The February-born chestnut, out of an unraced Aerion half-sister to Group 3 scorer Meerjungfrau, was bought for €58,000 by owner Horst Pudwill - whose colours have been carried with distinction by Dschingis Secret - and will enter training with that colt's handler Markus Klug.
Next best were two French-bred juvenile colts by Silver Frost and Thewayyouare who were knocked down to Stall Mandarin for €46,000 and €43,000.
A total of 67 lots from 97 offered changed hands, for a clearance rate of 69 per cent. Turnover came in at €697,600, up 33 per cent on the 2018 renewal, and the average of €10,412 rose by seven per cent.
