Two weeks of decidedly robust trade concluded at Tattersalls on Saturday with 158,155,600gns (£166,063,380/€193,111,925) having been spent on 1,502 lots across nine sessions of the October Yearling Sale.

The lion's share of that figure (65 per cent) was transacted during the three sessions of Book 1, the most prestigious chapter of the October Yearling Sale at which the biggest buyers typically clash for the best-bred and most perfectly conformed offerings.

Led by Godolphin's 3,600,000gns purchase of Barney Roy's half-brother by Dubawi, a total of 102,429,000gns (£107.55m/€125.059m) was spent on 397 yearlings at an average of 258,008gns (£270,910/€315,095) at this year's Book 1.
