Atlanta Du Berlais, a full-sister to two-time French Grade 2-winning hurdler Nikita Du Berlais, topped Auctav's Flash Sale on Wednesday when making €92,000 to Bertrand Le Metayer on behalf of Rahinston Stud.

Jean-Marc Lucas' homebred daughter of the late Poliglote placed over hurdles for Robert Collet, but has found her niche as a broodmare. She was sold in foal to Kapgarde and has a three-year-old Martaline filly named Miami Du Berlais, as well as a two-year-old son of Kapgarde and a yearling filly by Doctor Dino.

She hails from a prolific family as she is not only a full-sibling to the dual Grade 2 winner but also a half-sister to Grade 1 Prix Cambaceres scorer Bonito Du Berlais, as well as Listed winners Carlita Du Berlais and Bonita Du Berlais.

“I bought her for Rahinston Stud," Le Metayer said. "Harry and Lorna Fowler were very keen to add this family to their breeding operation.

"It's a family I know very well since I bought Bonito Du Berlais, who brought us great satisfaction. We've also acquired Dallas Du Berlais, the Kapgarde two-year-old out of Atlanta, as well as the latest product of Chica Du Berlais, the youngest brother of Atlanta, a two-year-old by Authorized named Léon Du Berlais."

Plans for the nine-year-old remain fluid, as she could remain in France for a short while longer in order to be covered.

Le Metayer said: "She will head over to Rahinston Stud in Ireland, although she could be covered by a French stallion before she leaves."

Iban Roque, a recent four-length winner at Angers, was not sold despite a last bid of €58,000. The son of Bathyrhon could be next seen at Compiegne or Auteuil.

Arnaud Angeliaume, managing director of Auctav, said: "We had two good lots in this Flash Sale and we will closely follow Iban Roque’s career.

"Atlanta Du Berlais was a very attractive lot due to the rarity of her
pedigree on the market. We thank Jean-Marc Lucas for his trust and I wish Rahinston Stud the very best with this wonderful purchase."

Auctav's next sale takes place on Wednesday, March 30 from 6-7pm local time. The auction will include National Hunt and Flat lots, while the catalogue will soon be available on the website.
