Straight to the top for Pretty Pollyanna as she becomes part of the family
Tom Peacock speaks to Tim Gredley about Stetchworth & Middle Park Studs
Yellow, black and white silks familiar since Environment Friend and User Friendly in the early 1990s now have the names of two family members on them, displaying the integration of Tim Gredley into his father Bill’s Stetchworth & Middle Park Studs.
Gredley jnr, a former showjumper, has taken a closer involvement during the last five years. Big Orange’s triumph at Royal Ascot espoused the Newmarket nursery’s ability to continue producing stayers and there has been an injection of speed into some of the families too, most notably through Pretty Pollyanna, the Group 1 winner who has been assigned an introductory match with Galileo.
Although there are clearly robust discussions when the pair sit down to complete the annual mating plans, squabbling is kept to a minimum.
