Erhaab: 1994 Derby hero still going strong
It's lashing down but there he stands in the middle of his paddock, like a smoker contentedly puffing away in a pub garden while everyone inside thinks they must be quite mad.
Erhaab is a gentleman of simple pleasures, the chief one being fresh air and open space.
"If he doesn't go out, he's in a proper bad mood - and he'll let you know," says Tim Varey, for whom looking after the 1994 Derby winner is the first and last job on his rounds every day.
