Hamilton still favourite for home win

Lewis Hamilton has retained favouritism for his home race despite being beaten to pole by his Mercedes teammate Valterri Bottas.

Hamilton has drifted from 4-6 to Evens to win the British Grand Prix with Bottas a 13-8 shot.

Charles Leclerc is 9-1 for Ferrari with Austrian GP winner Max Verstappen 10-1 and Sebastian Vettel 16-1.

Bottas pips Hamilton in qualifying

Valtteri Bottas took pole position for Sunday's British Grand Prix by just 0.006 seconds from Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc is third on the grid, with all three separated by less than eight-hundredths of a second.

The Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Pierre Gasly are fourth and fifth, with Sebastian Vettel, second-best to his youngfer teammate Leclerc all weekend, sixth.

Bottas was tipped at 7-2 for pole by Racing Post Sport's Adam Scriven.

Ferraris fastest in Saturday warm-up

Lewis Hamilton remains odds-on to win Sunday's British Grand Prix but the home crowd's favourite has not topped any of the three practice sessions as Ferrari duo Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel were first and second in Saturday's warm-up.

Hamilton was a close third behind Leclerc, who had been 8-1 to go quickest in the morning. Pierre Gasly of Red Bull was a surprise winner of Friday's first practice, while Hamilton's teammate Valtteri Bottas went quickest on Friday afternoon.

Gasly was again faster than his teammate Max Verstappen in third practice as they finished fourth and fifth ahead of Bottas.

McLaren's Lando Norris was best of the rest in seventh, with the Renaults of Daniel Ricciardo and Nico Hulkenberg taking a step forward on Saturday morning.

Hamilton is 4-6 favourite to take pole (2pm start) with Bottas 7-2, Leclerc 9-2 and Vettel 11-2. Verstappen is 12-1 to be fastest qualifier with Gasly 66-1.

Hamilton odds-on for home success

Lewis Hamilton begins British Grand Prix weekend with a smile on his face. Winning six of the nine races this season has given the British star a 31-point championship lead as he bids to land a sixth world crown which would put him second only to Michael Schumacher on the all-time list.

Hamilton has four wins and a second (to Sebastian Vettel last year) in the last five Silverstone races and is odds-on with all bookmakers to be successful again on Sunday.

His Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas, second in the championship, is 9-2, with Charles Leclerc 5-1 ahead of his Ferrari teammate Vettel at 6-1. Max Verstappen, who produced a great drive to win in Austria last time out, is 11-1 to win in Britain for the first time.

Hamilton and Bottas have three poles each this season, Leclerc two and Vettel one.
