Match preview

The Miami Dolphins are just one of two undefeated teams remaining in the NFL, and they will bid to keep it that way when they head to Ohio to take on the Cincinnati Bengals.

Things have not been easy for the Dolphins on their way to a 3-0 record. Two weeks ago, they completed a huge comeback against Baltimore Ravens, trailing 21 points at the start of the fourth quarter to win 42-38, before last week beating Super Bowl favourites Buffalo 21-19, despite the Bills putting up nearly 300 more yards of total offence.

Some would say Miami have been lucky, but good teams find a way to win and head coach Mike McDaniel looks to have found that magic formula.

Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has improved markedly and his rapport with top receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle has turned them into one of the most dangerous forces in the league. Tagovailoa and Waddle are carrying questionable tags on the injury report but are expected to suit up.

As for the Bengals, the Super Bowl runners-up have made a shaky start to the season. They fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week One before being downed by a Dallas Cowboys team playing their backup quarterback. They were able to get up and running last week with victory over the New York Jets, but that’s nothing to write home about.

The Bengals are still dealing with plenty of issues along the offensive line and it is hard to trust that this Cincinnati is up to replicating their heroics last season.

The jury is still out on how good this Dolphins team is, but based on what we’ve seen so far this season, they look more than capable of keeping this within a field goal.
