Rangers hope to revive their Scottish Premiership title challenge under new manager Michael Beale and they can make a start by beating struggling Hibernian at Ibrox.

The Gers have fallen nine points adrift of Celtic, prompting them to ditch Giovanni van Bronckhorst and move for Beale, who was on the club's coaching staff when they won the title in 2020-21.

Beale made a successful transition from coach to manager with his short spell at QPR, which ended with the Londoners positioned seventh in the Championship.

And it is likely he will get an instant response from the Gers, even though the squad is depleted by the loss of injured defenders John Souttar, Filip Helander and Ridvan Yilmaz and the absence of Croatian World Cup left-back Borna Barisic.

Eighth-placed Hibernian may sense an opportunity, but they have lost three on the bounce and could slide to a narrow defeat in Glasgow.
