Wednesday Champions League predictions

Feyenoord v Lazio predictions

Feyenoord have made a strong start to the season following their sensational Eredivisie title-winning campaign, sitting third in the league and their Champions League group.

And Arne Slot's side are just as exciting to watch this time  as four of their last five home matches have produced over 3.5 goals and their last game in Group E saw the ball hit the net five times as they lost 3-2 to Atletico Madrid.

Feyenoord have scored six at home on two occasions this season and look a good bet to net again at De Kuip, but their visitors will have a say too.

Maruizio Sarri's side have won their last three matches, are unbeaten in Europe this season, and there have been three or more goals in four of their six away games this term, including in their last Champions League match when they beat Celtic 2-1.

It is a tough game to call given the form of both teams but one thing that looks guaranteed is that goals are on the cards at De Kuip.

Barcelona v Shakhtar Donetsk predictions

The other early game on Wednesday sees Xavi's Barcelona, who are unbeaten in their 12 games in all competitions this term, welcome Shakhtar Donetsk who sit third in Group H.

It should be a fairly routine win for Barca, who have scored six goals without reply in their two group victories, as they can continue their unbeaten start to the season and build towards a crucial El Clasico this weekend.

Antwerp v Porto predictions

Later in Group H, second-placed Porto head to Belgium to face basement boys Antwerp, who are yet to register a point in their first campaign in Europe's top flight since the 1957-58 season.

The Belgian champions are struggling to find form, having lost 5-0 to Barcelona in their opening game before wasting a two goal lead to lose 3-2 at home to Shakhtar, and they may not be about to change against a well-drilled Porto side.

Sergio Conceicao's team have an unbelievable away record, with just two losses in their last 30 games on the road, and should be confident of beating a side who have managed just one victory in their last seven matches.

PSG v Milan predictions

The third-placed side in Ligue 1 welcome the second-placed team in Serie A in Paris, as PSG host Milan for what could turn out to be the best match of the week.

However, there is a tendency with these big fixtures for the sides to cancel each other out in a form of chess match, as happened in Arsenal's meeting with Manchester City this month, and goals could be at a premium at the Parc des Princes.

There have been no more than two goals in Milan's last four games and their two Champions League matches have finished 0-0, suggesting their game plan in Europe is to keep things tight at the back.

The hosts have been fairly free-scoring recently, hitting three against Rennes and Strasbourg in their last two matches, but those sides are below the level that Stefano Pioli's team operates at and a low-scoring affair seems likely in Paris.

RB Leipzig v Red Star predictions

Leipzig have won just one of their last four matches but they have played Bayern Munich and Manchester City in that run and should have an easier time against Red Star, who are bottom of Group G.

Red Star have been in strong form domestically but have failed to translate that into European performances, failing to beat Young Boys at home last time out, and look likely to struggle again against a superior Leipzig side.
