Boris Krcmar to beat Keegan Brown & Mike de Decker to beat Dragutin Horvat
3pts double 1.17-1 Coral

2024 PDC World Darts Championship day five predictions

Michael van Gerwen joins the party at Alexandra Palace tonight and the Green Machine is 1-9 to see off second-round rival Keane Barry.

There are a number of short-priced favourites toeing the oche today and there’s a duo of jollies that look excellent value.

Boris Krcmar is a rock-solid 11-20 chance against Keegan Brown. The Croatian is putting up a 93.34 three-dart average on the Pro Tour this season and that’s inside the world’s top 45.

Krcmar picked up his first Paddy Power World Championship victory when beating Toru Suzuki 3-0 last year and the Biggest caused Nathan Aspinall serious problems in round two.

That experience of winning on the biggest stage should have served the Croat well and Krcmar is likely to be too strong for Brown, who has plummeted through the rankings.

The Needle is way down at number 96 on the Pro Tour averages this year, and while the Isle of Wight arrowsmith has some good back form at the World Championship, the 31-year-old has been off his peak for some time.

Mike de Decker has impressed on the floor this year and a major breakthrough doesn’t look far away for the 28-year-old. The Belgian beat Jeff Smith on the Alexandra Palace stage last year and he was good when beaten Darius Labanauskas in 2022.

The Real Deal’s 94.14 average is miles above what Dragutin Horvat has produced this year and the 28-year-old should be a Belgian banker.

The double pays 1.17-1 with Coral and that looks the best way to attack today’s Ally Pally action.
