Fight preview

Teofimo Lopez moves up to super-lightweight in the early hours of Sunday morning to take on Pedro Campa in Las Vegas.

The Takeover is rolling the dice in the 140lbs division after a shock defeat to George Kambosos last year. The Aussie is a good fighter, but Lopez has been one of the stars of the lightweight division and it was a blot on the copybook of the former unified 135lbs champion.

Campa has been operating in mainly low-key fights and this will be only the second time the Mexican has fought outside his homeland.

Roca stepped up in class to take on Carlos Jimenez in 2017, but he was dropped and stopped by his compatriot and since then he has largely been restricted to small-hall fights.

Lopez hasn’t taken any risks with his first opponent at super-lightweight and that’s reflected in odds of 1-16 about the New Yorker. This is likely to be a one-sided affair so backing the bout to be over before the fifth round looks the best bet.
