Fight preview

There's a good domestic showdown when Maxi Hughes and Kid Galahad clash in Nottingham on Saturday night.

Galahad is on the comeback trail after being knocked out by Kiko Martinez in November but it would be unwise to get too caught up in one defeat.

The Sheffield star had previously won the vacant IBF world featherweight title when beating the useful Jazza Dickens and prior to that impressive stoppage victory the 32-year-old was unfortunate not to get the decision when taking on top-level operator Josh Warrington.

Hughes is on the up and back-to-back wins over Ryan Walsh and Jovanni Straffon read well. However, the Rossington puncher has lost to Martin J Ward, Sam Bowen and Liam Walsh, and Galahad would be a level above those boxers.

The Sheffield star steps up to lightweight to take on Hughes but the former world featherweight champion is a class above and that doesn't look to have been accurately reflected in the prices.
