Neil Robertson heads a weakened field at this week's German Masters and the world number five is a 9-4 chance to oblige in an event that only four of the world’s top 16 have entered.

Both of last year’s finalists, Zhao Xintong and Yan Bingtao, along with Li Hang and Zhao Jianbo, have been suspended as part of an inquiry into match-fixing, so Tom Ford, Jimmy Robertson, Ali Carter and Ricky Walden all receive byes to the last 16.

The lack of star names presents some of the sport's lesser lights with a golden opportunity to notch a ranking title.

Jack Lisowski is widely regarded as the best player on the circuit yet to win a ranking event, but Jackpot has landed a dream draw and looks a rock-solid proposition to break his duck.

The world number 12 has just one other top-16 player in his half of the draw and after an opener against Zhang Anda, he is likely to face either Jimmy White or world number 120 Peng Yisong.

Lisowski made the final of this event two years ago and can go one step further this time around, finally securing that elusive first ranking crown.

Another interesting contender is China's Pang Junxu. The 2021 Rookie of the Year, who reached the last eight of the Championship League recently, has landed in a weak bottom quarter and could give Ricky Walden a real scare in the last 16. The youngster has strong claims to outrun his big price.
