Penny Mordaunt remains the odds-on favourite to become the next prime minister after the second round of the Conservative leadership contest saw Suella Braverman drop out of the race to replace Boris Johnson.
Five candidates - Mordaunt, Rishi Sunak, Liz Truss, Kemi Badenoch and Tom Tugendhat - have gone through to Monday's next round and one by one they will be whittled down until just two remain. At that point wider Conservative members will decide who will become the party's next leader and prime minister.
Mordaunt has been kept at 4-6 to win the overall battle and a YouGov poll of 879 party members from July 12-13 suggests she would come out on top in the final head-to-head showdown.
The poll shows that 67 per cent of the canvassed members favour her over Sunak and Mordaunt's biggest challenge could come from Liz Truss if the numbers are on the money. Mordaunt is at 55 per cent against Truss.
Former chancellor Sunak is a 100-30 shot and Truss can be backed at 9-2. Badenoch is 33-1 and Tugendhat has drifted to 250-1.
