It is with plenty of pride that Venetia Williams looks back on last season and it only takes a brief glance at the numbers to see exactly why.

Her 60 winners were achieved at a strike-rate of 21 per cent, with the stable's runners earning more than £1.5 million in prize-money along the way.

Williams has been training since 1995 but after Cloudy Glen took the Ladbrokes Trophy, Royale Pagaille the Peter Marsh, Funambule Sivola the Game Spirit and L'Homme Presse and Chambard scored at the Cheltenham Festival, she cannot recall a more productive campaign than the last.
