Tom Peacock chats to Sybille Gibson from French Stallion Trail stop-off Montaigu
This weekend's Route des Etalons is not simply an opportunity to have a nose around various corners of north-western France. It provides an important showcase, particularly for new signings among the stallion ranks.
For Haras de Montaigu, there are no fewer than three recent arrivals to display to prospective breeders on Saturday and Sunday, with Flintshire, Dschingis Secret and Technician comprising half of the roster at a stud which has been in the same family's hands for well over a century.
"We’ve been involved since the beginning of the Route des Etalons and it’s very precious for us, especially with new stallions," explains Sybille Gibson, who is from the fifth generation to be involved at Montaigu.
