Young at heart Faugheen 'has all his old confidence back' for Leopardstown date

The remarkable Faugheen is all set to bid for further Grade 1 glory over fences at Leopardstown on Sunday with jockey Patrick Mullins reporting the 12-year-old has "all his old confidence back".

Mullins was on board for his victory in the Matchbook Betting Exchange Novice Chase at Limerick last month and while he does not yet know if he will get the chance to maintain the partnership in the Flogas Novice Chase he believes the sprightly veteran is the one to beat in the 2m5f event.

"Faugheen is in absolutely super form," said Mullins, son of Faugheen's trainer Willie. "He knew he won at Limerick and all his old confidence is back. Everything has gone well with him since his win at Christmas and we’re very happy with him."
