Impressive Dubai Fountain maintains steady flow of winners for Johnston
The coronavirus disruption to the 2020 Flat season might have derailed Britain's winningmost trainer Mark Johnston's hopes of a tenth annual double century, but his wave of winners continues unabated.
The Middleham trainer, also on the mark with Sky Defender at Epsom, won the two-year-old fillies' race for the third year running when Dubai Fountain and PJ McDonald spreadeagled their three rivals to suggest black-type assignments await.
Johnston enjoyed his second-best June score with 41 winners – he had 44 two years ago – and July is traditionally just as plentiful. He yielded his record-breaking 50 winners in the month last year and is registering on average a winner a day in his repeat bid.
