Appleby in orbit after Moonraker caps memorable weekend

Moonraker completed a memorable couple of days for Mick Appleby when he captured the feature £20,000 handicap.
The trainer was still in Norway where Hakam landed Sunday's Group 3 Polar Cup at Ovrevoll, but the successes continued as Moonraker struck under Ali Rawlinson and Lexington Times scored in Jersey.
Although Moonraker had no form on the fibresand surface, Appleby had worked him on the track and knew what he was capable of as he saw off Tricky Dicky in a time inside the Racing Post standard.
