Many of these horses pick themselves, none more so than the Gold Cup winner A Plus Tard. He was so impressive last season and it's hard to find horses coming through who could challenge him. If he's in the same form this term, he could go unbeaten.

There will be question marks over Shishkin after Cheltenham last March so I'm going for Energumene. Willie Mullins learned a lot from his defeat at Ascot and he was impressive at Cheltenham and Punchestown.

Constitution Hill was awesome in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle, travelling so well off a strong gallop, and I'm taking Jonbon from the same race – probably the most impressive loser at the festival last season.

He has more size than Constitution Hill and is going over fences – he could be very special.

I hate to go against Honeysuckle but I can see Constitution Hill winning everything in Britain all winter and Vauban winning everything on the other side of the Irish Sea. I think plenty of the Triumph Hurdle winner.

L'Homme Presselooked really good on soft ground last season. The jury is out on what his ideal trip is but on winter ground he'll be very effective from two miles five furlongs to three miles and could fly the flag for Britain in the Gold Cup.

Gaillard Du Mesnilstarts the season as a very experienced novice chaser, having been placed in two Grade 1s and the Irish Grand National, and he'll put that to good use this winter. He could win a few races.

Fastorslowwas a winner over hurdles and fences in France who had his light kept under a bushel until he got narrowly beaten in the Coral Cup. He was second again at Punchestown and he'll be very capable in premier handicaps.

Champion Bumper winner Facile Vega, out of the great Quevega, looked extra special and the vibes are good from the Mullins yard regarding his jumping so he should do well in novice hurdles.

And Luccia is a high-class prospect for mares' novice hurdles, having been the impressive 17-length winner of a Listed bumper for Nicky Henderson.
