How the game works

How much does it cost?

It’s a £5 or €5.50 (in Ireland) entry fee per stable and giving access to a free-to-play game. Each player has one entry in the free-to-play game.

The prizes
There is a £100,000 guaranteed prize pool. The total pool is determined by the number of entries and pays prizes down to 500th place, plus monthly prizes. Ten per cent commission is taken by the Tote to cover the costs of running the game, with the rest of the net pool distributed in prizes.

The winners
Thirty-five per cent of the pool will go to the winner and the remainder will be divided from second to 500th place, minus 12 per cent to cover four monthly prizes from December to March. The free-to-play game has raceday prizes.

The scoring
Horses gain points as follows:
Grade 1 win = 25 points
Grade 2 win = 20 points
Grade 3 win = 15 points
Listed win = 12 points
Any other race = 10 points

Extra points
These are gained based on a payout of a £1 each-way bet with the Tote.

What’s new for 2021/22?
The Angler’s Algos:
an auto-fill algorithm designed to select the best horses for your stable. Whether you want the algorithm to pick one, two or all ten horses it will pick a balanced stable optimised to score the most points across the season. The algorithm has been fine-tuned to select the optimum balance of stable. This includes targeting bonus races, selecting bankers and picking wildcard horses who can make the difference.

More information: see how popular each horse is as horse lists can now be sorted by percentage picked, highlighting the percentage of stables with that horse in; or most points last year. See the Racing Post Verdict on each horse, sort by bonus races, expected distance, RPR, and race types to get all the info to pick the perfect ten.

There will be a seven-day transfer window in early March, when two substitutions can be made to lists.
