Champions Rock Of Gibraltar and Ouija Board among those we lost in 2022
The most celebrated Flat horses to pass on in the last 12 months have been top miler Rock Of Gibraltar and champion filly Ouija Board.
Both were dual Classic winners who went on to score a total of seven Group/Grade 1 victories, with the colt reaching that score in one uninterrupted burst and the filly spreading her achievement over three seasons of sterling endeavour on three continents.
Rock Of Gibraltar, who won the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket and the Curragh and was the world champion racehorse of 2002, died in October aged 23.
