Paul Kealy's play of the day at York

Bolsena
3.15 York

After showing bags of promise on last season's debut at Haydock, Bolsena ran poorly on her next two starts (one this season), but one came on soft ground and the other on the all-weather, and she looked much happier back on decent turf when bolting up under Ryan Moore at Newmarket last month.

It was only a maiden, but she looked in a league of her own and the penny might now be dropping for a filly who is a half-sister to eight winners who have recorded Racing Post Ratings in excess of 100, including last year's Queen Anne winner Triple Time for the same stable.

Given her pedigree it will be disappointing if she doesn't continue to improve, and while she does have to find more to win this, it's not actually that much as it doesn't look the warmest Listed race.
