'He'll go chasing and is a natural jumper - we're very excited about him'
Last season was Emma Lavelle's joint-best in terms of winners and second-best for prize-money and hopes are high that 2022-23 will top the lot.
Lavelle has enough experience to temper her natural optimism with a healthy dose of realism, yet she is buzzing about the next few months.
Her roots are firmly down at Bonita Racing Stables – "a fantastic place with magical gallops" – and she says: "We have some promising youngsters but a huge number of chasers. I had a run the other day of 13 runners and 11 of them were chasers, which is indicative of where we'll be.
