There are no shortage of good story lines at Happy Valley on Wednesday.

Joao Moreira is back from suspension and just one behind Zac Purton in the title race with fewer than 100 races left in the Hong Kong season.

Purton gets back aboard one of the most exciting young sprinters in town when Hot King Prawn bids to make it six wins from seven starts in the Wong Nai Chung Gap Handicap at 3.15.

And one of the most progressive young riders around can make his mark again when Jack Wong partners Wah May Baby in the Mount Nicholson Handicap at 12.45.

Wong lost his 5lb claim with his 70th HK success on Sunday but remains good value for a 3lb allowance and Wah May Baby – known as Alphabet Rap when he won at York for David Barron back in 2013 – is nicely treated on several pieces of form shown at the city venue this season.

Moreira will head the market on Heroic Guru, and rightly so after a fine second at Sha Tin, but the freewheeling Wah May Baby should get a sweet run from stall four and he looks the each-way call at 6-1 or bigger.

Precision has been the hallmark of Purton’s pursuit of Moreira this season, but wide trips are an occupational hazard for those drawn high at the Valley and Let’s Take It Easy covered much more ground than three of the four who beat him here last month.

That trio are back again in The Cricket Club Valley Stakes at 2.45 and Purton faces another challenge from stall ten, but Let’s Take It Easy remains in fine form and smoother sailing will give him a sporting chance of reversing the form in what should be a truly run race.
