DARK HORSE

Havana Rocket(2.45 Ffos Las)

Andrew Balding has his team in exceptional form and also holds a 29 per cent strike-rate at Ffos Las in the last five years (15-51). He sends four runners to the Welsh track, including Havana Rocket who will look to build on his debut seventh at Sandown last month. The son of Havana Gold travelled really well through that race – which involved some nicely-bred horses from powerful yards – before showing plenty of signs of greenness when coming under pressure inside the final furlongs. He wasn't beaten far that day, he's sure to improve markedly for the run and the extra half-furlong will suit. Likely favourite Hot Team is definitely worth taking on.

EYECATCHER

Burn Some Dust (6.35 Nottingham)

I think the three-year-olds will dominate this staying handicap with Hazarfan and Burn Some Dust standing out, and it's the latter I'll be backing following his Newcastle victory 21 days ago. The Shirocco gelding handled the big step up in trip to 1m4½f with consummate ease and was the only horse to come from the rear that day, swooping to take the prize late. He's only 5lb higher here and the extra distance as well as the likely give in the ground will suit.
