Sweetspots: Sunrise Ruby looks a gem for Henderson in bumper

Credit: Alan Crowhurst

Zulu Oscar (4.30) bids to improve Jeremy Scott’s decent 43 per cent record at Bangor. It is more than a year since he won but he is nicely handicapped and an improved effort may be forthcoming.

When Mark Walford and amateur Emma Todd team up at Southwell they have an impressive 75 per cent strike-rate. They do so with Oliver’s Gold (8.35), who hasn’t won over hurdles for a while but is fairly weighted on his chase exploits, which include a course-and-distance win two starts back.

Nicky Henderson generally does well with his bumper runners (27 per cent overall), but this improves to 50 per cent when he sends them to Southwell. He is represented by Sunrise Ruby in the bumper at 9.05.
