Sweetspots: Barnes can hit the target to leave rivals feeling blue

Maurice Barnes has a 29 per cent strike-rate over the past fortnight and that increases to 42 per cent when combining with Dale Irving at Hexham. They team up with Bafana Blue (5.10) who drops in class.

John Bridger and William Carson have a 21 per cent strike-rate when combining at Epsom. They team up with the 12-year-old Shifting Star (4.15), who was a close-up third over course and distance last month.

Ralph Beckett and Oisin Murphy have an impressive 56 per cent strike-rate when combining at Doncaster. They team up with the progressive Melodic Motion (3.00).

Victor Dartnall has a 25 per cent strike-rate at Chepstow. He saddles the well-handicapped Howardian Hills (4.30) who will be raised 1lb in future after finishing runner-up last time.
