North: Richard Young

Paddyplex (2.40 Newcastle, nap)

Unexposed sort who has quickly made up into a useful handicapper on the Flat with best effort when touched off over today's course and distance last time. Fancied to go well from only 1lb higher mark.

Western Ryder (2.15 Huntingdon, nap)

Trainer Warren Greatrex is convinced we did not see the real Western Ryder in the Tolworth and is confident the highly regarded six-year-old can bounce back.

Others to follow
Newcastle: 5.30 Regina Nostra.
Chelmsford: 6.30 Rosedale Topping, 7.30 Malaysian Boleh, 8.00 Ascot Day, 9.00 Exit Europe.

West Country: Tim Mitchell

Thundering Home (4.40 Doncaster, nap)

Three-time winner last season who has yet to recapture that level although showing signs of a revival of late. Better ground a plus and, with the booking of James Bowen, a bold showing is expected having dropped to a winnable mark.

Others to follow
Doncaster:
1.55 Gibbes Bay, 2.25 Mr Mix, 3.00 Secret Investor.
Huntingdon: 2.15 Mr One More, 2.50 Zipple Back, 4.30 Sparkling Dawn.

Racing Post Ratings: Steve Mason

Turning Gold (4.05 Doncaster, nap)

Has run well in defeat on both starts over hurdles to date. He is fancied to get off the mark in receipt of weight from his elders.

Longshot: Ed Quigley

Dueling Banjos (3.30 Doncaster)

Appears to have lost some confidence over fences, and with trip and ground to suit, he can go well off a mark of 130 returning to hurdles.

Topspeed: Dave Edwards

Blair House (6.00 Meydan)

Just denied over course and distance three weeks ago, Charlie Appleby's five-year-old can pick up deserved compensation.

Ireland: Tony O’Hehir

All For Joy (5.00 Thurles)

Runner-up over course and distance on his bumper debut in November, the Oliver McKiernan-trained six-year-old confirmed the promise of that effort when a creditable fourth in a maiden hurdle at the Leopardstown Christmas meeting and the runner-up has won since. The son of Robin Des Pres gets the vote to score under Katie Walsh.
