The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Wednesday

Eve Johnson Houghton: trainer of Frank Bridge
1 of 1

BANKER

Frank Bridge(7.25 Sandown)

A return to Sandown and a small field looks perfect for Eve Johnson Houghton's Frank Bridge, who looks sure to have another victory in him off a mark of 88. The five-year-old gelding has been running well this season, finishing runner-up twice including last time at Ripon when beaten just a nose and remains on the same mark. He comes back from a seven-week layoff here but has gone well fresh in the past andthe race should be run to suit with Race Day likely to set a steady pace, which would inconvenience market rival Magical Effect.

EYECATCHER

Welliesinthewater(7.40 Leicester)

This is a pretty competitive contest for a 0-80 handicap and three-year-olds Plunger and Ghayadh are sure to attract some support in receipt of weight, but I fancy Derek Shaw's Welliesinthewater to follow up his recent Doncaster success. The veteran seems to do his winning in groups and following the handicappers leniency by dropping him to a mark of 73, he could quite easily rack up a sequence of victories. Running off a mark of 78 today, still 7lb lower than when he won at Chelmsford last May, Welliesinthewater looks a good bet to score under Paddy Mathers with his latest victory working out well (second won at Epsom by two lengths last week).
