The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Thursday
Ed Dunlop's filly has improved since being sent handicapping this season, notching an encouraging fourth on her first attempt in the sphere, disappointing at Windsor where she didn't stay an extended 1m3f and eventually getting off the mark at the sixth time of asking at Beverley last time out. She was really game out in front that day, fending off all challengers including from the second Winged Spur, who briefly headed her two furlongs out. That runner has since won off a 5lb higher mark and the third, beaten just under seven lengths by Sageness, has scored by six lengths subsequently. Just 7lb higher here than when winning at Beverley, Sageness should follow up.
Leading Spirit(7.45 Newbury)
Charlie Appleby was really excited by Leading Spirit at the start of the season and it's fair to say he's disappointed in three starts in novice company. Now gelded, Leading Spirit tackles nurseries for the first time and could be well treated off a mark of 76. He ran into really useful types on his three starts, including Dunkerron last time out, and this represents a far easier opportunity.
