The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with three to follow on Thursday

There looks to be a couple of nice bets at Chelmsford this evening
1 of 1

Poyle Vinnie (6.40 Chelmsford)

There's plenty of pace in this five furlong handicap with Zac Brown, Bosham and Crosse Fire in the line-up and they may just set it up for Ruth Carr's consistent eight-year-old. Dropping down to Class 3 company on the back of a more than creditable sixth behind El Astronaute at the Dante meeting, Poyle Vinnie will find this contest much easier and can enhance his good all-weather record. The blinkers seemed to work the trick last time and it's good to see they've been retained. His draw in stall three is perfect for his running style and he's 10lb lower than his last winning mark.

Kingofthesingers (3.20 Wolverhampton)

I seem to be tipping quite a few Sir Mark Prescott handicappers in the last week or two, but I just couldn't get away from this three-year-old. The son of Leroidesanimaux followed the standard rulebook for a Prescott juvenile last year with three quick runs over inadequate trips to get a handicap mark. However, he ran with plenty of credit on the last two occasions in what were extremely hot fields for novice company at Chelmsford. For example, he was sent off at 100-1 when seventh of eight last time out over a mile, but the first two are now rated 93, while the fourth and six have scored since. Now upped to 1m4f, he competes off just 67 and should take this prize at the expense of Gift Of Hera.

Poet's Society(8.40 Chelmsford)

Likely favourite Fast Landing is a horse I'd want to take on and instead I prefer Poet's Society, who has a cracking draw in stall one to try and dominate this seven furlong handicap. This gelding is as battle-hardened as they come and has already had a whopping 11 starts in 2018, where he's notched a couple of victories– both over this trip. His only other run over this trip this campaign came in the Victoria Cup when he was clearly outclassed, and the return to seven can reap the rewards again. He's likely to have it all his own way up in front and it'll be no surprise to see him shortened in the market.
