The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with three to follow on Saturday
Stratum (3.40 York)
My banker of the Ebor meeting, Willie Mullins's Stratum just sneaks into the 20-runner field for the Ebor Handicap and looks a good thing on the back of his impressive JLT Cup victory at Newbury. He travelled extremely strongly that day in a first-time hood, which is retained, and this has been the target ever since. He's just 8lb higher for that effort and the fact that he possesses such a nice turn of foot as well as an abundance of stamina makes him stand out.
Magnetic Charm(2.40 Goodwood)
Although Antonia De Vega, who I think could be an outstanding filly, is in opposition, I'm happy to take her on in this Group 3 contest with William Haggas's Magnetic Charm. The daughter of Exceed And Excel showed real improvement from her first to second starts and the way she went about her demolition job of a Newbury novice event last time suggested she's a Group horse in the making. The second, Winter Light, has boosted the form since when scoring at Brighton, and Magnetic Charm could be the next big prospect to run in the Queen's silks.
Game Starter(5.45 Windsor)
He could just be a class above. Saeed Bin Suroor's big, scopey four-year-old Game Starter makes his first start for 343 days and looks a horse to follow into the autumn. Hopefully he will be ready to roll first time up as he entered many people's horses-to-follow list last season when making all in handicaps at Newmarket and Doncaster, beating subsequent Group-race horses in the process. He'll probably need further in time, but this could be a stepping stone to bigger things.
