The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with three to follow on Oaks day
Medburn Dream(2.35 Epsom)
The testing conditions have put me off Brorocco in the 1m2f handicap (3.45), but my money will instead be going on Medburn Dream, who will love the give in the ground. Peter Hedger's five-year-old has only had two starts for his current trainer and, having run well on his debut for Hedger last November, he improved markedly for a gelding operation when scoring on good to firm ground at Windsor last month. He's 6lb higher today, but the conditions are almost certainly going to help him out and he should have enough in the tank to hold off these rivals.
Forever Together (4.30 Epsom)
This is a really weak running of the Group 1 Investec Oaks, albeit competitive, and my pin has landed on Forever Together. It's difficult to separate Aidan O'Brien's five runners, while I don't fancy Wild Illusion, Give And Take or Perfect Clarity, but with just three runs under her belt, Forever Together looks the one most open to improvement and this trip looks ideal in the conditions. She was unlucky whengetting no luck in running at Chester behind the reopposing Magic Wand and I reckon she may have won that day if getting the breaks. Bye Bye Baby would be interesting if she wasn't going to act as a pacemaker, while I Can Fly's stamina is a doubt.
Black Bess(5.50 Epsom)
Another trappy handicap but Black Bess looks worthy of an each-way punt on the back of a cosy Lingfield success over half a furlong further. Her stamina is assured over this trip, she's up to a career-high mark but the RPR she recorded that day suggests she can defy it, while Paddy Bradley has a good record on her. Juanito Chico and Ripp Orf will undoubtedly be fancied and it would be no surprise if they proved too good for Jim Boyle's rather exposed mare, but the ground will help her chances and she has a nice draw in stall two.
