The Punt Daily: Maddy Playle with two to watch on Thursday
Moved travelled in the style of a smart horse when third on debut at Lingfield. A little unorganised around the bend, the gelding improved nicely from the rear– albeit looking slightly green– andthe penny dropped in the final half-furlong. He flew through the line to be beaten just over two lengths by two experienced rivals in Howman and Life On Earth. He has the pedigree to match that promise, as his dam is a half-sister to Group 1 winner Free Eagle, meaning she is also related to Group 2 winners Saphire and Custom Cut. Simon Crisford had a good Royal Ascot courtesy of Britannia winner Ostillo, and this horse can give him another reason to celebrate.
Fastar was very progressive last season, winning three times and improving 10lb to a mark of 83. He returned from a 237-day break off a 7lb higher mark in a competitive heat at Sandown, where he didn't go unsupported under Frankie Dettori, whowas avery interesting jockey booking. Far tookeen in the early stages, Fastar raced wider than the rest, which didn't help his exuberance, but he stuck on very well to finish fourth. This is a tough contest but Poet's Society should ensure he gets a good pace to aim at and he has a good draw in stall one.
