The Evening Punt: James Stevens' free horse racing tips at Wolverhampton
Charles Le Brun (7.45 Wolverhampton)
A few of these go into this handicap off the back of wins but this Jonny Portman-trained runner looks an improving type who can make another big step up.
He has run three good races on the all-weather, including when desperately unlucky not to win at Kempton in December.
A decent fourth in his one run since, he is off the same rating of 51 here and the yard's runners appear to be in much better form. Richard Kingscote, the jockey that day at Kempton, is back on board here which is a further boost to the four-year-old's chances.
Blue Cable (8.15 Wolverhampton)
Michael Attwater has sent out 40-1 and 10-1 winners in the past fortnight and his runner here looks well capable of hitting the frame at a big price.
Blue Cable recorded a career-high RPR at this track with former trainer James Eustace and had excuses when failing to fire when sent off favourite for her next two starts.
On stable debut last month, she failed to settle with first-time cheekpieces so the removal of headgear is a positive here. She has shown enough to suggest she can win off a rating of 51 and a return to Wolverhampton provides her with a good opportunity.
