Sweetspots: McCain and Hughes the perfect combo for Ayr
Chris Gordon has a nine per cent strike-rate with his hurdling debutants with three winners from 34 runners. Interestingly all three of those winners came at Plumpton where Gordon is three from eight, a 38 per cent strike-rate, and Don’t Tell George fits that criterion in the 3.40.
Donald McCain and Brian Hughes have individual strike-rates of 15 and 21 per cent at Ayr. When they join forces that rises to 75 per cent. They do so with Hills Of Dubai in the 2.50.
Oneroa, who runs in the 4.35 at Wolverhampton, finished a promising second at the course a week ago and is 7lb better off on RPRs than when the weights were published.
