Sweetspots: Bin Suroor’s Valley can Light up Wolverhampton

1 of 1

James Ewart has a 33 per cent strike-rate with new recruits and Detonate goes in the 3.30 at Musselburgh. He looks interesting based on his sole start in France where he was 2 and three-quarter lengths behind Dandy Mag, who has since recorded an RPR of 139 with Willie Mullins. He wears a hood for the first time, which the trainer has a 43 per cent strike-rate with.

Saeed Bin Suroor has won with his last two runners and sends Valley Of Light to Wolverhampton in the 6.40, a track he has an impressive 35 per cent strike-rate at. This filly has to overcome a wide draw but it is worth noting her trainer has had nine handicap debutant winners from just 14 runners at the track in the last five years.

Victor Dartnell’s overall strike-rate increases from 14 per cent to 29 per cent when sending horses 400 miles or further. His only runner to make the trip to Musselburgh is Ut Majeur Aulmes, who runs in the 3.00. The slightly better ground should suit the 10-year-old and he looks on a fair mark.
