No Hiding Place looks up to the test at Plumpton

Credit: Alan Crowhurst

Lambourn: Nick Deacon

No Hiding Place (3.20 Plumpton)

Might well have won an amateur riders' handicap at Sandown last time had he not made a bad mistake at the second last. Faces a tougher test here, but looks to be improving and stable in very good form.

Others to follow
Ffos Las 2.05 Another Emotion, 4.50 The Lion Dancer.
Plumpton 5.30 Voyage De Retour.

North: Colin Russell

Sharney Sike (3.00 Newcastle, nap)

Disappointed last time and not the force of old, but has a fine record on the track, has dropped to a good mark and with conditions to suit is fancied to get off the mark for the season.

Others to follow
Newcastle 2.25 On The Rox, 3.30 Main Fact, 4.05 Swing Hard, 4.40 Behindthelines, 5.10 Massini's Lady, 5.40 Dedigout.

West Country: Andrew King

Ballygown Bay (3.20 Plumpton, nap)

Returns from a break and expected to go close with things in his favour as he has run well when fresh in the past.

More to follow
Plumpton 4.30 Moving In Style 5.30 Irish Odyssey.
Ffos Las 3.45 Behind Time 4.20 Garran City.

Racing Post Ratings: Sam Walker

Admirality (5.15 Cork)

Split a pair of subsequent winners when second at Gowran in October and repeat performance could be enough if he's ready to go first time up.

Topspeed: Dave Edwards

Saltonstall (3.35 Cork)

Honourable runner-up on Naas reappearance three weeks ago and despite top weight can deservedly gain compensation.

Longshot: Ed Quigley

Solomn Grundy (4.20 Ffos Las)

Wasn't at his best last time out, but trip and ground will suit and is on a fair mark.

Ireland: Tony O'Hehir

Escapability (2.00 Cork)

An eyecatching third at Naas last month, the son of Excelebration makes plenty of appeal over a similar trip in today's opener. He gets the vote to score for Jessica Harrington and Colm O'Donoghue.

Raceform Interactive nugget

Mr Muddle has figures of 12122 in chases at Plumpton; at other courses he is 5624534223U3U34253555 (0/21). He should be able to take advantage of a drop in grade on his favourite course at 5.00.
