Newmarket: David Milnes

(6.15 Lingfield, nap)

Ran a debut brimful of promise when third at Doncaster 16 days ago when just in need of the run. Ed Dunlop's youngster has since moved well on Warren Hill and won't mind any ease in the ground.

North: Colin Russell

Lake Volta (4.20 Newmakret, nap)

Shot up the ratings for winning a Listed race at Epsom in June, but back down to a much better mark now. Put up a sound effort when third in a strong race at Newbury last time and, with conditions ideal, the three-year-old is fancied to return to winning ways.

Lambourn: James Burn

Shanghai Glory (4.20 Newmarket, nap)

Went close in the Stewards' Cup off 6lb higher a year ago. Might want seven furlongs now, while the easy ground is another plus. He was not right after his last run but is in good form now.

Others to follow

West Country: Tim Mitchell

Birds Of Prey (1.55 Haydock, nap)

Dual winner for John Oxx who has shaped with encouragement on both starts on Polytrack since joining Paul Nicholls. A bold bid is expected now back on turf at a track that should play to his strengths.

Others to follow
Ascot 1.40 Jukebox Jive.
Lingfield 6.45 Mostly Green.

Racing Post Ratings: Sam Walker

(2.50 Ascot, nap)

Posted a career-best RPR of 104 two starts back and returned from a wind operation with an encouraging, staying-on effort at Newcastle last time. Chance of more to come.

Topspeed: Dave Edwards

Cleonte(1.40 Ascot, nap)

Hasn't won for a couple of years but his recent Newbury effort suggests he could end the lengthy barren spell.

Longshot: David Revers

Shady McCoy (2.50 Ascot, nap)

Desperately unlucky in the Golden Mile handicap at Goodwood last week when constantly denied a clear run. He is a course winner who will be more at home at the Berkshire venue and Adam Kirby is an excellent boost to his chances.

Ireland: Tony O'Hehir

Kailee(3.35 Cork, nap)

A maiden winner at the Curragh last season, the daughter of Bated Breath has lost out narrowly over today's seven furlong trip on her two starts this year, both at the Curragh. She is well drawn and gets the vote.

Hajjamis a perfect 3-3 when running at Redcar and jockey David Nolan is 2-3 on the David O'Meara-trained gelding. Nolan rides the four-year-old in the 1m handicap at 4.05.
