With understandably small fields given firm ground at Bath, Ripon is the obvious place to go for a Placepot with only the last leg not offering three places.

sets the clear form standard in leg one (12.45) having won after running green early at Kempton on her debut. She switches to turf now and while that should not be a bother, banking in juvenile races is not always a good idea.

Karl Burke's shaped a lot better than her finishing position suggests on her debut in what looked a fair heat at Doncaster and she goes in too.

In leg two (1.15) is the main bet of the day and he can be joined by course specialist – eight top-two finishes at the track – who ought to run his usual game race here. I'll leave out Captain Jameson in case the ground is too fast.

The next (1.45) is a wide-open 5f selling handicap where might be the answer dropped in trip from a good draw. He would never have got home pulling over Pontefract's stiff 6f last time and he has the pace to make the most of stall 11.

, who has run fair races on his last two starts, is the cover shot.

Leg four doesn't get any easier as it's a nursery over a mile, but and have shown some ability in two starts each and will relish going up in trip.

Leg five (2.50) features a few in-form stayers, with the selections , who is well handicapped at his peak and showed his best form for a while upped to 2m last time, and , who still has some mileage in his handicap mark.

Going with two in the last (3.20) probably makes sense as well, and the picks are and , who were first and second here just under two weeks ago.
