It is unusual to find a Hong Kong race meeting on a Monday, but a public holiday is a good excuse and the fans will flock to Sha Tin to punt on this quality card.
Four weeks into the season, we are now seeing the reappearance of some of the really good horses.
With that comes a punters’ warning– most will have the Hong Kong International Races in December as a major target and few will be fully wound up so far ahead of the big day. Bluntly, plenty will need the run.
But that cannot be said of the Caspar Fownes-trainedSouthern Legend, who has an outing under his belt already this season. Thatwill serve him well in the 7f Celebration Cup (9.40).

By the way, the formidable opposition includeshorse of the year Beauty Generation and Ping Hai Star, the Hong Kong Derby winner.
Ten-time champion trainer John Size saddles two prolific winners inIvictoryand Hot King Prawn in the 5f National Day Cup (9.05). Not much separates the pair on potential although Ivictory, the higher weighted of the two, is reportedly ‘flying’ at present and is preferred here.
A course-and-distance winner under Joao Moreira in June,Team Spirit looks to have a decent each-way chance for trainer Me So and jockey Chad Schofield in the 6f Shanghai Handicap (10.15).
