Ascot

5.00: Fresh

The most fascinating runner is King's Lynn if he can approach the dynamic 5f form he has been showing, notably when hampered in the King's Stand on Tuesday. He has a big weights chance but this is such a different type of race, not least because the ground has changed, that he is worth opposing. Stablemate Chil Chil is a rapid improver, having absolutely slaughtered her rivals in a Newmarket handicap this spring, but she may need that fast ground and preference is for Fresh, a powerful finisher who is going the right way and looks sure to be suited by a very strongly run race. Pendleton only just lost out to him here in April and, with a subsequent 5f win under his belt, he can also go well on ground that has come right for him. Chiefofchiefs is also respected along with Gulliver who made up a lot of ground behind Hey Jonesy in this race last year. The much-improved Rohaan also has to be considered.
Emily Weber

Perth

3.10: Smart Getaway

Pammi ran well in defeat over C&D two weeks ago and is still on a good mark but lightly raced mare Smart Getaway proved she retains ability when second after a long absence in April and could have significant untapped potential over today's longer trip. Lissen To The Lady didn't fire on her latest outing but, on a line through the horse that beat Pammi here recently, she could still be well handicapped after her win two starts ago.
Chris Wilson

Down Royal

4.00: Martinique

An interesting affair in which a chance is taken on Martinique being ahead of the assessor, open to further improvement and likely to be suited to this assignment. Solene Lilyette is a filly on the up who needs respecting, while Soaring Sky and Talacre are unexposed 3yos who could well have more to offer.

Redcar

1.50: Out Of Breath

Grant Tuer is having an exceptional season and his latest success story, Out Of Breath, can land the hat-trick. Thornton Le Clay returned to the Flat with a close third at Hamilton recently and could be best of the rest. Katsonis is another to consider, while Ezanak won at Ayr last time but has an unreliable profile.
Ben Hutton

Newmarket

5.05: Graystone

Final Watch looks likely to make another bold bid, while Fangorn drops in grade and Diffident Spirit moves into handicaps with potential. A 2lb rise for Graystone's handicap debut success at Yarmouth looks lenient and he may be able to follow up in this stronger race.
Paul Smith

Lingfield

5.45: Ziggy

With just three runs under his belt, Ziggy is open to improvement and both his pedigree and his performances so far suggest today's longer trip will suit. He's taken to make a winning handicap debut with Dolphin Vista the main danger ahead of Shining Aitch.
Richard O'Brien

Haydock

8.35: Our New Buddy

It can often pay to focus on 3yos in this sort of contest so the vote goes to Our New Buddy, whose Sandown reappearance second has been boosted by the third winning a handicap since. Recent C&D scorer Cote D'Azur still has plenty of handicapping scope after a 3lb rise so he's next best ahead of Viceregent, who has been given a bit of a chance by the handicapper and may benefit from the return to 1m2f.
