Best bets for Chelmsford, Chester, Huntingdon, Tipperary and Worcester

Thursday's best bets from the Racing Post's unbeatable Spotlights team

Chelmsford

6.20: Maori Knight

Arctic Vega ran a very encouraging race upped to this trip at Newbury last month and he's feared, while unexposed four-year-olds Big Wing and Cedar Cage have the potential to do better this season. The really interesting one is Maori Knight, who has won here, goes well fresh and is absolutely thrown in on last season's best form. He often compromised his chance by pulling too hard in 2020 but he has been gelded since last in action and this might be the time to catch him.
Paul Smith

Chester

4.45: Set Point

Although the case for Baileys Derbyday has already been recognised via his 3lb rise in future handicaps, there is plenty of potential among today's rivals that may thwart his attempt to take advantage. Stablemate Love Is Golden is in that camp, given his pedigree, but the top option may well turn out to be Set Point, a soft-ground winner who showed plenty of promise on his reappearance, followed by Sonning, who impressed with the style of his reappearance win over 1m2f.
Richard Austen

Huntingdon

2.25: Rooster Cogburn

Such was the authority of his all-the-way Market Rasen success that Rooster Cogburn is taken to follow up off a 9lb higher mark. Only Money, who has potential if he learns to settle, and Elisezmoi, wearing a tongue-strap for the first time, look the main dangers, in that order.
Richard O'Brien

Tipperary

7.30: My Immortal

Ballycrystal winner My Immortal has joined Barry Connell from Cormac Doyle and can score at the main expense of Jim Dreaper's recent Fairyhouse point-to-point second Thelasthighking. Drewscourt has shown a fair standard of form. Newcomer Elegant Style is potentially interesting.
Alan Sweetman

Worcester

1.30: Hawk's Well

Several of these can be given a shout, notably Fly To Mars now that he tackles a suitable trip, and especially Hot Ryan on her chasing debut. For all that, it is hard to escape the emphatic Newbury win of Hawk's Well, who looks a horse to follow over fences.
